UNESCAP - Regional Workshop on Enhancement of ICT Accessibility
The “Regional Workshop on the Enhancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities” was held from 22 September to 2 October at APCICT in Incheon, Republic of Korea.
The workshop was organized by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the pacific (ESCAP), in cooperation with Korea Agency for Digital Opportunity and Promotion (KADO) and Asia and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT) to develop the capacity of policy makers in developing guidelines and implementation strategy through training workshop and building network between them.
The representatives of the Government officials from six countries (Cambodia, Indonesia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam) attended at the workshop.
Participants adopted with consensus the “Recommendation for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Accessibility Guideline for the Persons with Disabilities” and agreed to develop the implementation strategies for the use of policymakers and relevant professionals of the selected countries in the region.
