Secretariat for the CRPD (UN DESA) - Panel Discussion on "Mainstreaming Disability in Development Cooperation: Experience, Vision and Future"
In conjunction with the upcoming 47th session of the Commission for Social Development, the Secretariat for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities of the Division for Social Policy and Development/Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat has organized a panel on “Mainstreaming Disability in Development Cooperation: experience, vision and future”.
Some of the leading bilateral and multilateral development agencies—Department for Development Policy, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland; Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); United States Agency for International Development (USAID); and the World Bank—will discuss their experience and vision for mainstreaming disability empowerment of persons with disabilities in development cooperation.
This is the first of a series of panel discussions on mainstreaming disability in development organized by the SCRPD/DESA. Ms. Maria Veronica Reina (Global Partnership for Disability and Development-GPDD) will be the moderator for this panel.
