3rd Biennial Midnight Sun Assistive Technology Conference
Assistive Technology of Alaska (ATLA) in collaboration with many statewide partners in government, education, independent living and vocational rehabilitation is proud to host the 3rd Biennial Midnight Sun Assistive Technology Conference from August 3–5, 2011 at the Dena’aina Convention Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
Prior to the conference there will be two pre-conference classes available. The California State University Northridge (CSUN) Center on Disabilities will be in Anchorage providing their Assistive Technology Applications Certificate Program (ATACP) on August 1–2, to provide current knowledge and skills to service providers, educators, professionals and private individuals in the rapidly growing field of Assistive Technology.
On August 2nd, join the state’s top experts for a Web Access class that will provide hands-on experience for web professionals to improve usability of online information and services. This pre-conference session is ideal for designers and application developers, policy makers, media and communications professionals.
Alaskans will have an opportunity to see first hand the latest in assistive technologies (AT), AT related practices and services for people with disabilities. There are 110 presentations with 50+ presenters on topics related to assistive technology for education, employment, community living and IT/telecommunications. 30+ exhibitors from nationally renowned AT companies and many local disability support organizations will be available throughout the conference to provide participants with hands on demonstrations and information on a wide range of AT and services.
