This is the second in a series of global forums jointly organised by Leonard Cheshire Disability and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Bringing together disabled people’s organisations (DPOs), NGOs, UN agencies and academics, this conference offers a unique opportunity to develop innovative ways to bring disability into the mainstream of international development.
This conference will enhance participants’ understanding of how disability-inclusive development contributes to the full achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It will also act as a platform for exchanging lessons learnt and ways to improve the quality and effectiveness of development cooperation through the inclusion of persons with disabilities. Recommendations will feed into the regional preparatory process towards the conclusion of the Second Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons in 2012.The conference will address the following topics:

- Review of international and regional mandates on disability and aid effectiveness;
