OCAD University to open Inclusive Design Institute
(Toronto—May 18, 2012) OCAD University will hold an opening reception for the Inclusive Design Institute, a research community and regional research hub focusing on the inclusive design of emerging information and communication systems and practices.
Remarks will be given by:

- Deputy Minister Wendy Tilford, Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation
- Jutta Treviranus, Director, Inclusive Design Institute
- Ian Tudhope, Chair, OCAD University Board of Governors
- Sarah McKinnon, Acting President, OCAD University
The Inclusive Design Institute is a research community and regional research hub focusing on the inclusive design of emerging information and communication systems and practices. The IDI is funded by both the Government of Canada through the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the Ontario Research Fund Research Infrastructure program with eight postsecondary institutions as core partners: OCAD U, University of Toronto, Ryerson University, York University, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Sheridan College, George Brown College and Seneca College.
Representatives of all partners will be in attendance and available to discuss their digital inclusion research projects.
