ETSI Workshop on the Human Side of Technology: Human Factors in ICT

  • Sophia Antipolis, France
  • June 2-3, 2014
  • Venue: ETSI Headquarters, 50 Route des Lucioles, 6921 Sophia Antipolis Cedex

The growing complexity of telecommunication services, in convergence with media content and connected smart devices makes the human element in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) increasingly important.

Human Factors is the application of knowledge about the capacities and limitations of users so that products, systems, services and environments can be made attractive, safe, efficient, accessible and easy to use. Human Factors is therefore a key element in the commercial success of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) products and services as well as their accessibility by persons with disabilities. Moreover, the European Union has made accessibility of products, services and infrastructure one of its major targets to be achieved by 2020.

  • dissemination of the work results on user experience and accessibility and
