Tamar Makharashvili

Social Scientist | PhD Candidate (UDL) | Accessibility Audit & Inclusive Tourism Expert

Tamar Makharashvili is a social scientist with expertise in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), dedicated to advancing equity, accessibility, and innovation in education. As a PhD candidate, her research focuses on integrating UDL frameworks into higher education systems to reduce achievement gaps and foster inclusive academic environments in Georgia.

In addition to her academic work, Tamar serves as a Country Advisor with G3ict - The Global Initiative for Inclusive ICTs and as an Accessibility Audit Expert with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Tbilisi Development Fund (TDF), where she co-authored the publication Inclusive Cities - Urban Area Guidelines.

She is also the Founder and Program Director of the International Institute of Universal Design Research and Education (IIUDRE) and the Inclusive Tourism Center (ITCP), where she develops training programs and policy initiatives that integrate UDL, accessibility, inclusive tourism, and social development.
