Mission & Vision

G3ict: Advancing Digital Accessibility Worldwide

G3ict is an independent global nonprofit advancing digital accessibility worldwide. Founded in 2006 with key industry and advocacy partners—and in cooperation with the United Nations Secretariat for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)—G3ict is rooted in the principles of the CRPD and committed to ensuring that digital transformation benefits everyone.

With 1.3 billion people living with disabilities—and aging populations increasing the need for accessible technologies—digital accessibility has become essential for full participation in modern life. G3ict serves as a bridge‑builder, global convener, and technical resource, translating accessibility commitments into practical progress across policy, practice, and professional capacity.

Mission

Building a global community to advance the fundamental human rights of persons with disabilities to digital access.

Vision

A world where persons with disabilities have equal access to digital content, products, services, and environments guided by the principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)—the eighth United Nations Human Rights treaty.

Our Work

G3ict advances its mission through three interconnected pillars that operate as a unified ecosystem:

  • Global Policy & Advocacy
Strengthens policy and standards development aligned with the CRPD, raises awareness across governments and multilateral institutions, and benchmarks national progress through tools like the DARE Index. This pillar establishes the vision, standards, and accountability framework for inclusive digital transformation.
  • Advisory Services
Provides strategies, roadmaps, tools, and technical guidance that help countries, cities, and organizations operationalize accessibility commitments. This pillar turns global norms into actionable, context‑specific implementation pathways.

The Convening Power of the M‑Enabling Summit

G3ict’s flagship global conference, the M‑Enabling Summit, brings together leaders from industry, advocacy, government, and academia to shape the future of inclusive technology. Complemented by regional and international events, these convenings amplify G3ict’s impact year‑round.

Stakeholders & Partners

G3ict collaborates with international organizations, governments, industry, civil society, academia, and the accessibility profession. These partnerships strengthen cross‑sector collaboration and demonstrate how accessible technology drives innovation, economic opportunity, and social inclusion.

Learn More about the CRPD

Adopted in 2006 by the UN General Assembly, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) provides the global framework for ensuring equal access to digital content, technologies, and services. Oversight is carried out by the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva.
