General Law protecting the Rights of Persons with Disabilities:

  • UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Disabilities Act No. 14 of 2003 (Civil Society Programs)

Although there are in place very strong laws in writing that cater for all persons with disabilities there has been slow progress due to poor implementation.

Government agency for accessible ICTs:

There is not a specific agency. However, there are government departments like the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (National Council for Persons with Disabilities) through its Disability Mainstreaming Department which convert written material to Braille format upon request by individuals. ICT Authority ( ICT Authority ) has provision for accessible ICT but it is not specific to persons with disabilities but the general public.
