International Islamic University (IIU) President Calls for Accessibility of the University Website

The International Islamic University (IIU) on Monday launched Urdu news version on its website on the orders of President of Pakistan and IIU chancellor Mamnoon Hussain.

The facility was inaugurated by IIU president Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh during a special ceremony on new campus. The inauguration made the IIU news portal trilingual including Arabic, English, and Urdu.

Dr Al-Draiweesh said that Urdu version of news on the website was part of the

completion of the desire and directions of President of Pakistan and IIUI Chancellor Mamnoon Hussain who always stressed for the promotion of Urdu language in the institutions.

He said efforts for the promotion of Urdu language would continue. Dr. Al-Draiweesh hailed PR and IT departments of the university saying both have responded positively to the call for the launch of Urdu version of the website on short notice and did it.

He said it was an example of the best skills and attributes of the officials of both departments. The IIU president called for making the website compliant with the universal web accessibility standards for the students. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the heads and representatives of the relevant IIU departments.
