M-Enabling Summit to Co-Locate at the 2011 Health Summit
M-Enabling Summit, focused on mobile applications and services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, will co-locate with the 2011 mHealth Summit.
ATLANTA (August 10, 2011) —
The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) and the Global Initiative for Inclusive Technologies (G3ict) today announced that the M-Enabling Summit, focused on mobile applications and services for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, will co-locate with the 2011 mHealth Summit.
The largest event of its kind, the mHealth Summit brings together leaders from across the mHealth ecosystem to foster and encourage communication and advance collaboration in the use of wireless technology to improve health outcomes across the globe. Both events will be held simultaneously at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in the Washington, D.C. area. The M-Enabling Summit will be held December 5-6, 2011, the mHealth Summit will be held December 5-7, 2011.
"The M-Enabling Summit will offer an opportunity for mHealth Summit participants to experience the latest innovations in the field of accessible and assistive mobile solutions for seniors and persons with disabilities, a critical requirement for all mobile health applications and services," said Richard Scarfo, Director of the mHealth Summit and Director of Strategic Alliances at the Foundation for the NIH.
This cooperative agreement with G3ict and E.J. Krause & Associates Inc. (EJK) will complement the existing partnership the FNIH has established with HIMSS, the mHealth Alliance and the National Institutes of Health in organizing the mHealth Summit. The M-Enabling Summit benefits from a large international participation, and the support of industry leaders in matters of mobile accessibility as well as international organizations advocating the rights of persons with disabilities. The M-Enabling Summit is organized by G3ict and EJK in cooperation with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
"G3ict is very pleased to cooperate with the FNIH in co-locating with the mHealth Summit. The M-Enabling Summit participants, which include mobile assistive technology developers and mobile service providers, will very much benefit from the large variety of actors already involved with the mHealth Summit," added Axel Leblois, Executive Director of G3ict.
The Gaylord National Convention Center at National Harbor, which offers state-of-the-art accessible conference and exhibit facilities, will host both events in contiguous spaces. All participants to the mHealth Summit and the M-Enabling Summit will have full access to each other exhibits and to certain shared sessions.
