Mission & Vision

Who We Are

Founded in 2006 in cooperation with the United Nations Secretariat for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) at UN DESA, G3ict—the Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies—is a nonprofit advancing digital accessibility worldwide through collaboration with industry, academia, the public sector, and organizations of persons with disabilities.

Mission

Building a global community to advance the fundamental human rights of persons with disabilities to digital access.

Vision

A world where persons with disabilities have equal access to digital content, products, services, and environments guided by the principles of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)—the eighth United Nations Human Rights treaty.

Our Work

G3ict fulfills its mission through advocacy and advisory services, while its division—the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP)— strengthen the accessibility profession with education, certifications, and global networks.

A Unified Ecosystem for Digital Inclusion

G3ict’s Global Advisory Center, the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), and its Institutional Advocacy Division together form a comprehensive ecosystem advancing digital accessibility worldwide. Advisory services deliver strategies and tools, IAAP empowers professionals through training and certification, and Institutional Advocacy drives global policy, awareness, and benchmarking.

At the heart of this ecosystem is the M‑Enabling Summit, G3ict’s flagship global conference, convening accessibility experts and leaders from government, industry, advocacy, and academia to shape the future of inclusive technology. Complemented by a portfolio of regional and international events in partnership with the United Nations and other institutions, these convenings extend G3ict’s impact throughout the year.

Together, the Summit and global events amplify the work of G3ict’s divisions, ensuring digital inclusion is advanced at every level — from local communities to organizational practice to international policy frameworks.
