M-Enabling Summit

Flagship Global Conference

The M‑Enabling Summit is G3ict’s flagship convening, uniting accessibility leaders from government, industry, advocacy, and academia to shape the future of inclusive technology. As the premier venue for decision‑makers, it fosters insights on accessibility solutions, multi‑stakeholder collaboration, and inclusive innovation.

Together with G3ict’s regional and international events, the Summit amplifies the work of its divisions — Advocacy, Advisory, and IAAP — advancing digital inclusion from local communities to organizational practice to international policy frameworks.

Digital Transformation and Accessibility

Since the early 2000s, mobile networks and the Internet have expanded exponentially, reaching billions worldwide. This growth has fueled digital transformation across every sector and sparked innovations in user interfaces, assistive applications, Smart Home and Smart City solutions, and Extended Reality technologies — all of which can benefit persons with disabilities when designed with accessibility in mind.

Launch of the M‑Enabling Summit

Recognizing this profound transformation, G3ict launched the M‑Enabling Summit in 2011, in partnership with E.J. Krause and Associates (EJK) and in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The Summit was created to foster collaboration among participants in the emerging M‑Enabling ecosystem, including app and web developers, technology providers, operators, advocates, innovators, consumer electronics industries, governments, accessibility experts, and service providers committed to advancing digital accessibility.

Global Reach

Beyond Washington, M‑Enabling-branded meetings have been organized in:

  • Milan, Italy (2012)
  • Sydney, Australia (2013)
  • Moscow, Russian Federation (2015)
  • San Francisco, USA (hosted by GSMA at the 2017 Mobile World Congress Americas)
  • Düsseldorf, Germany (in cooperation with REHACARE at Messe Düsseldorf in 2018 and 2019).

Resilience and Growth

After virtual editions during the COVID‑19 pandemic, the Summit resumed in‑person gatherings in October 2021. In January 2022, G3ict assumed full ownership and management, with the 14th Annual edition scheduled for October 5–7, 2026.
