Overview:A11y Camp is an annual digital accessibility (a11y = accessibility) and inclusion conference. James Thurston, Vice President for Global Strategy and Development, will be presenting the Keynote at the A11y Camp.
He will also conduct a workshop - 'How Inclusive is Your Smart City' on November 12, 2019, where participants will do a self-assessment of how inclusive their city is today using the tool. This half-day workshop will introduce participants to:
- Key performance indicators and metrics to support advancing ICT accessibility and digital inclusion in urban environments and across a broad range of functions that are important to all cities, like strategic planning, procurement, budgeting, technology deployment, developing partnerships, and using standards, etc.
- Five distinct levels of capability in and commitment to digital inclusion and accessibility across six specific dimensions that are important to all Smart Cities, e.g. Technology, Data, Culture, Vision, and Process.
Registration for A11y Camp is now open. A11y Camp is also taking applications to sit one of two IAAP certification exams.
