Indonesia: New App Launched for Older Persons and Persons with Disabilities

Disabled and elderly patients of Tugu Koja Regional Hospital (RSUD) in North Jakarta now have an app they can use that notifies them about medical checkups and reminds them to take their medication.

The app, E-Ladies, was launched on Tuesday. Its features included Ladies Call, Ladies Mall, Ladies Roll and Ladies Go, each of which helped the disabled and the elderly to receive medical care, Tugu Koja hospital director Nailah said.

“Ladies Mall will remind users when to take their medication, Ladies Roll will remind users when their next medical checkup is and Ladies Go is a medicine delivery service,” Nailah said on Tuesday, Warta Kota reported.

She said the app would initially only serve the disabled and the elderly, but later the hospital would develop features that cater to all patients.

“The app can be downloaded via smartphone app stores. For those that do not have a smartphone, they can still access the features through text messages,” Nailah said.

Koja district head Ade Himawan said E-Ladies was a step forward in medical services in the district and expressed hope for improvements to it.

“Maybe for now it only serves the disabled and the elderly. But in the future I hope the app will be able to serve anyone,” he said.
